Installing your kitchen faucet is easy to do, If you spend 2 minutes reading this article, I believe you may solve your installation within 10 minutes. Now we get to it.
If you are replacing the faucet in your existing sink, look underneath to see how many holes it has before you get the new tap. Usually, it can have from 1~4. A three hole faucet won't work in a single hole sink, but you can use a single hole faucet in a three or four hole sinks. You can just add a cover plate, sprayer or soap dispenser on the other holes.
If you're also putting in a new sink, you can buy the sink and faucet that work together which could make things a bit easier.
Make a list of the things you'll need for the job.
Things like supply lines, tools, screwdriver, wrench, replacement spool, washer, etc.
Remove the old tap
Step 1: To begin the installation on an existing sink, turn off the water main valves, then turn on the water faucet to relieve pressure.
Step 2: Always place a bucket underneath the valves to catch water before removing all the supply lines.
Step 3: Hold the faucet and loosen the nuts with the appropriate wrench. Then take off the nuts.
It is OK to remove the faucet now, once the old faucet is entirely removed, and all the pipes are thoroughly inspected and cleaned, you can proceed to clean up the installation area to allow for a tight fit.
Keep in mind, different faucets install differently. So be sure to read the instructions.
Typically, here's what you do.
Install a new tap.
Step 1: First, assemble the faucet. Then feed the lines into the holes and position the faucet. Underneath, install the nuts and mounting bracket.
Step 2: Next, hook up the water supply lines. Don't over tighten.
Step 3: Turn on the supply valves, check for leaks and re-tighten if needed.
Step 4: Remove the aerator and turn on the water slowly to flush the line and faucet of debris.
Step 5: Let it run for a little and check everything again just to make sure.
Step 6: Screw on the aerator... And with that, you're done.
